10 years after Brianna Denison's murder shook northern Nevada, her cousin has gone missing
Brianna Denison, a 19-year-old Reno girl who was home visiting from Santa Barbara where she studied psychology at the Santa Barbara City College, was murdered in January 2008 after she was abducted from a friend's house in Reno by James Biela, and her body was found in a field on Feb. 15 of the same year.
Now, exactly 10 years apart, her cousin Caitlin Denison, 19, has also gone missing as of January of 2018.
Brianna Denison's murder rocked the community with the brutality and senselessness of the crime, and now tragedy has struck the Denison family once again.
Caitlin Marie Denison told her family she was flying to Midland, Texas with a man she had just met.
According to cbs7, a Midland news channel, Caitlin’s sister Rachel said “This isn’t like her. We would never go this long without talking, that’s why I know something is wrong.”
Rachel also said the last time she spoke to Caitlin, Caitlin had said the man made her scared for her life.
Caitlin flew from Reno to Texas to meet with an unidentified man who lives in Midland. It was confirmed he boarded the plane with her, according to cbs7, but he is yet to be identified, and the family has been unable to view footage from the airport.
Caitlin is described as being 5' tall and weighing 120 pounds with blue eyes and blonde hair.
She has a tattoo on her left knuckle of the word 'Alien' and the letter 'M', a tattoo on her right forearm of a libra scale, two piercings in her nose on each side, a piercing on her bottom lip, a tongue piercing and medusa piercing, and scars on her legs and arms.
No family should have to lose a daughter, let alone two girls from the same family, of the same age, exactly ten years apart to the month.
Authorities are asking for anyone who has information to call DPS at (512) 424-5074 or 1 (800) 346-3243.
