Pam's Blooms, Carson City's newest 'Flower Shop on Wheels,' offers fresh flowers in style

When Pam Karg moved to Carson City three years ago from Georgia, she at first continued her career of teaching, and became a local Kindergarten teacher. However, she soon discovered her second passion: flowers.

What first began as a hobby has blossomed into a career with Pam’s Blooms, Carson City’s newest “Flower Shop on Wheels,” which operates as a mobile, full-service florist.

“I can provide day-to-day florals for individuals or businesses, as well as florals for special events including weddings, funerals, and corporate events,” said Karg. “I pride myself on being able to offer the freshest flowers in Carson City. I’ve put a lot of effort into finding out how I can get as close as possible to the grower in the flower supply chain.”

Pam’s Blooms can be spotted in various places around Carson City and the surrounding region with its large purple flower truck, which is decorated like a garden with a white picket fence and sliding farmhouse windows.

“It’s eye-catching and adorable,” said Karg. “The truck really is like a flower shop on wheels. It has a nice work area, a full sized flower cooler, inside lights and running water. It’s a great addition to my business, which allows me to do remote locations for any type of event.”

Karg purchased the flower truck a little over a year ago and got to work. She is about to graduate from the Floral Design Institute in Oregon, where she completed her Basic and Advanced Floral Design courses and will soon have the Certified Floral Designer designation.

“My former career as a teacher, and my earlier career in retail, have prepared me for the hard work that it takes to own your own business,” said Karg. “I think the same characteristics which made me good at those jobs will also serve me well in owning my own business. I love to learn, I’m motivated, passionate and creative. I’m not afraid to take a risk, and I am a people oriented person. Most of all, I love being my own boss in my new adventure.”

Pam’s Blooms can be found at Aunt B’s 2, located at 110 S. Curry Street, during the Carson City Wine Walk each month, as well as on social media such as Facebook and Instagram. You can also find Pam’s Blooms at www.pamsblooms.com

“I’m open every day, and customers can call me to have flowers delivered for any occasion,” said Karg. “I will deliver anywhere in Carson City as well as the surrounding areas including around Lake Tahoe. In addition to fresh flowers, I can make silk arrangements for your home or business.”
