Carson City detectives ask for public's help identifying check fraud, identity theft suspect
Carson City Sheriff's Office detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman involved in an identify theft in which a wallet was stolen and a check was cashed.
The incident happened on July 20, 2021 when the female, seen in the photo, cashed a check at the Carson City Gold Dust Casino, 2171 East William Street. The check was returned as fictitious.
Gold Dust West filed a fraud report on August 5 with the Carson City Sheriff's Office. Detectives contacted the person who’s identification was used to cash the check and learned her wallet had been stolen and she was a victim of identity theft.
The person cashing the check at Gold Dust West is not the same person whos identification was used. Detectives are looking for the identity of the woman in this photograph.
