'Back to Work' Job Fair at Adams Hub Thursday offers connections with over 20 local companies, employment resources and more

Event Date:
August 12, 2021 - 11:00am

Are you looking to change industries, find your dream job, or simply see what's out there? Look no further than the Back to Work Job Fair hosted by Adams Hub in Carson City this Thursday.

More than 20 different companies will be represented in a range of industries including healthcare, manufacturing, mining, technology, professional services, restaurants, construction and many more, ranging in everything from entry level positions to managerial.

There will also be career counselors and job coach specialists available for job-seekers to connect with who can offer advice on resume writing and interviewing skills, as well as providing professional skills assessments and job placement support.

“It’s not your typical job fair because we will help job seekers identify their skills and employable assets,” said Elaine Spencer, director of the Adams Hub. “Experienced and non-experienced should apply because there may be opportunities for something they haven’t considered.”

Job-seekers should be prepared for on-site interviews, and are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resume in case they find the perfect opportunity to apply.

Spencer said the Adams Hub provided the facility to local businesses to help them find and recruit employees because the organization’s purpose is to enhance the local economy, and the number one issue found while speaking with local business owners is the lack of employees.

“We felt this was the best way we could help our local economy and business owners at this time,” Spencer said. “We are welcoming employers in all industries and would love to have them join us or send us their open positions to post on our jobs board – both in the Adams Hub and online.”

Employers at the Adams Hub Back to Work Job Fair will be hiring for entry, mid- and senior levels, with opportunities at every level, and represent Carson City and regional companies including Minden and Gardnerville.

JOIN will be on site to host a resume workshop for those needing to create or update a resume. Participants will leave with hard copies and a thumb.

JOIN will also have a booth for more information about their programs for both employers and those looking to enhance their skills.

The Job Fair will take place on Thursday, Aug. 12 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Adams Hub, located at 111 W. Proctor Street.
