Carson City man arrested for commercial burglary said he was 'reorganizing' and 'just wanted his job back'
A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of S. Carson Street and E. 5th Street Thursday afternoon for suspicion of felony attempted commercial burglary and possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription.
Zachary Kane Sisler was arrested after Carson City deputies were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress.
On scene, dispatch advised that the suspect had left the scene.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, who told deputies they had been informed by a tenant that a man who had been evicted was in one of the equipment storage rooms. When the reporting party went to check the scene, they observed Sisler inside the storage room placing property inside of a tote bag.
They told deputies Sisler used to live on the property but was evicted in April. Inside the storage room, deputies found a blue tote bag filled with property, and on the door there were marks indicating forced entry.
Deputies located Sisler on the corner of S. Carson and 5th Street. Sisler told deputies he used to be an employee at the hotel and was attempting to get his job back. He said he was in the storage room re-organizing the room, and that he had used a credit card to gain entry to the room.
He said that he did have keys to the room, but did not use them to gain entry. He confirmed he did not have permission to enter the storage room to “re-organize it.”
Deputies arrested Sisler for attempted commercial burglary. While searching his person prior to arrest, deputies located a multi-color rubber case which contained 8 blue pills, later identified as Alprazolam. He did not have a prescription.
