East Fork firefighters called to brush fires in Douglas County
UPDATE: 6:54PM: Forward progress stopped on the Lebo Springs Fire east of Johnson Lane. Crews have hose lines around the entire permitter of the 27.5 acre fire and have transitioned to mop-up.

UPDATE 4:57PM: per incident command the size of the fire burning in the Pine Nut Mountains east of Johnson Lane is estimated at 6 acres. Multiple resources are on scene.

UPDATE: The small wildfire near Holbrook Junction north of Topaz Lake has been knocked down, according to an East Fork fire battalion chief on scene. He noted the knockdown was possible with the help of the U.S. Forest Service. The fire burned around 1 acre.

East Fork Fire responded Tuesday afternoon to brush fires burning in Douglas County in the Pine Nut Mountains east of Johnson Lane and there's a brush fire north of Topaz Lake.
The brush fire near Johnson Lane is in the Sunrise Pass area, five to 7 miles east of Johnson Lane in Minden. It has been dubbed the Lebo Springs Fire. At 3:36 p.m. it was estimated to be between 5 to 10 acres via firefighters reporting to dispatch. It was burning in sage, pinion and juniper. Air tankers have been ordered. No structures appear to be threatened at this time.
A small brush fire also broke out near a cell tower at Holbrook Junction north of Topaz on Tuesday afternoon. Initial reports are that there are two separate fires. Instead it is one fire which has been dubbed the Sleeping Elephant fire. That fire is said to be 1 acre, according to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center. It is unknown if any structures are threatened.
