Carson City arrests: Man jailed after attempting get into family backyard party

A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, July 30 for suspicion of misdemeanor harassment, trespassing, disturbing the peace and probation violation following an incident at a Colorado Street residence.
According to the booking report, deputies responded to a home after the suspect had allegedly attempted to gain entry onto property where a small family party was happening.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party (RP) who advised he was having a small party at his home with a few family members and friends and that the children were in the backyard playing. The RP advised that at 10:35 p.m. the suspect came to the front door and asked if everything was all right. The RP said he told the man everything was fine and that they were having a family gathering.
The RP advised the suspect demanded to be let into the house and the back yard to check on everyone and to make sure no one was being injured, the report states. The RP then told the man to leave and get off his property. The RP said the man yelled "I'm calling the cops" and walked away.
The RP said that 10 minutes later he saw the suspect standing in front of the house and asked if he had called the cops. The suspect said no and then entered his front yard and attempted to open the front door of the house, yelling "let me in."
The RP advised he told the man to again leave the property. The suspect said "I'm going back there," and then ran around the house to the east and began climbing over the fence to access the backyard, according to the RP.
The RP advised his children were in the back yard and didn't know what the man's intentions were, so he chased the man and that him and another person at the party held him down until law enforcement arrived.
Deputies spoke with the person who helped hold the man down. Both the RP and the man who helped hold the suspect down advised they didn't know the suspect and completed written statements about what happened.
As deputies investigated, dispatch advised the suspect is currently on supervision with the Department of Alternative Sentencing and had conditions. He was arrested for violation of bail conditions as well as for suspicion of harassment, trespass and disturbing the peace. Bail: $3,786.
In other arrests:
— A 29-year-old man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony dissuading a victim from reporting a crime, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Brandon McClure was taken into custody at a Riley Circle residence following an investigation into an argument over who got to play a video game on an Xbox. The argument escalated with the suspect and another male pushing each other. When a female at the residence attempted to break them up, and said she was going to call police, the suspect allegedly attempted to take her phone away. The male subject who was arguing with the suspect, was also chased and tackled as he was trying to call 911, the report states. He declined to press charges.
Deputies spoke with the suspect, who stated that he had pushed and tackled the male and admitted he had attempted to prevent the woman from calling 911. He stated he was unaware that was illegal. The suspect was arrested for suspicion of interfering with the reporting of a crime, a felony offense. Bail: $5,000.
— A 30-year-old woman was arrested July 31, 5:42 a.m. for suspicion of domestic battery after she allegedly hit her husband in the right eye with a closed fist during an argument.
According to the booking report, officers responded to an apartment on East Fifth Street for a report of domestic battery. Deputies arrived and spoke with the couple individually.
An officer spoke with the male who advised the two had an argument over who should be feeding their four-month-old baby. He stated he got up at around 2:30 a.m. and fed the baby and when the baby was crying at around 5 a.m. he told his wife to feed the baby since he did not have any bottled breast milk.
The man said he was getting ready for work and that the woman fed the baby, who was crying. He said when she asked him to help her with the baby, an argument escalated and that his wife struck him in the face with a closed fist. The officer observed the male's left eye was red. Bail: $3,137.
— A 21-year-old woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony home invasion, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Alyssa Maria Munoz was taken into custody at 2:58 p.m. following an incident at a Carmine Street residence.
According to the booking report, the suspect went to the residence to retrieve $60 owed her from the subjects at the residence.
The suspect advised she knocked on the door. A person inside the home asked her to leave. The suspect said she put her foot in the door way as the person was attempting to shut the door, causing the door jam to break.
A deputy observed the crack in the area of the lower hinge. The person filled out a statement in reference to the incident and Munoz was arrested for suspicion of home invasion. Bail: $25,000.
