Popular Squeeze In restaurant coming to Carson City
Breakfast fans will rejoice, the popular Squeeze In restaurant known in Reno and Truckee, as well as locations now in California, will be coming to Carson City inside the new downtown development being built for retail and residential spaces on Curry Street.
The new location in Carson City in the new Curry St. complex will be the 9th expansion of the restaurant, and the 4th Nevadan expansion.
The restaurant is the second one to go into the new development. In May it was announced The Martin Hotel Restaurant, a well-known Basque restaurant based in Winnemucca, will occupy ground level space at 308 N. Curry St.
Squeeze In is well known for their massive menu, featuring the “Best Omelettes on the Planet” as well as their eclectic decor, where customers are allowed to sign their names to the pastel colored walls in order to leave their mark. Every now and then when the walls become to full, they are painted over, and the process starts anew.
Squeeze In has also been featured on the food network in the show “Throwdown! with Bobby Flay” and have created a tribute omelet in honor of him called the Spanish Flay.
In addition they order an “Under 500 Calories” breakfast menu, sandwiches, salads, burgers, soups, as well as vegan and gluten free options.
They also have a very cute children’s menu called the “Little Squeezers”, and an expansive beverage menu including, for kids and adults alike.
The agreement was completed Thursday. Squeeze In President Shila Morris said, “We are at 308 North Curry Street and we'll be on the corner of Curry and Telegraph. It is such a cute building and project, we're honored and excited to be part of it!”
The restaurant could potentially be open by Nevada Day, but no definitive date has been announced.
To locals, that address is recognized as the new Hop and Mae Adams Foundation building complex which appears to be nearing the final stretch of construction.
The project, which broke ground in 2016, includes:
— Street-level retail spaces and a restaurant location including outside patio seating
— Class A Office space on the second level with state-of-the-art IT infrastructure
— Luxurious 2 and 3 bedroom apartments with private balconies, private elevator access, and private garages.
The building is located at the intersection of Curry and Proctor streets across from Adams Hub for Innovation, a recent Hop & Mae Adams Foundation program that includes a startup business incubator and co-working center.
