Carson City arrests: Man jailed for allegedly hitting gas station employee with flashlight
A 37-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Curtis Mock was taken into custody at 7:34 p.m. He also was booked for misdemeanor violation of bail conditions.
According to the arrest report, deputies on Sunday afternoon were advised of a battery with a deadly weapon investigation that happened after midnight at the Maverik gas station in the 3900 block of Highway 50 East.
Mock allegedly battered an employee, hitting her in the head with his fist, with a flashlight and had thrown a can of soda and a beer bottle at her. Surveillance video was viewed by investigating deputies where the victim appeared to be hit by Mock with a flashlight, which was seen landing on the ground. The suspect at one point was seen facing the camera before leaving the area, the arrest report noted.
The victim was treated by Carson City Fire Department paramedics. She was bleeding from the face, had a cut on her finger and had a bump on the back of her head. Deputies were advised that probable cause existed to arrest suspect Mock if located, for suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon, the report states.
At around 7:30 p.m. Sunday a deputy in the area of a casino on Highway 50 East observed the subject matching the description in the area of North Edmonds. Multiple casino employees also attempted to flag down the deputy, pointing toward the man's location.
Mock was walking on a bike bath on the south side of Highway 50 approaching Brown Street. He was ordered to stop and was safely detained. He was arrested for suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon and violation of bail conditions. Bail: $33,000.
In other arrests:
— A 47-year-old Carson City man, James Leo Wyatt, was arrested Friday for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance, gross misdemeanor possession of burglary tools and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
According to the booking report, the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team was alerted to drug related activity at a residence. SET was informed people were going in and out at all times of the day for a short periods of time. SET was also alerted earlier to drug activity inside.
SET members went to the residence, explaining why they were there and were permitted consensual entry. In plain view deputies saw a small plastic ziplock bag with white powder inside and two methamphetamine water bongs. Deputies exited the residence and applied for a search warrant, which was granted by a Carson City judge. During the search SET located the following items:
— Digital scale with methamphetamine residue found in the living room desk
— Large plastic baggie with residue found in the back patio trash.
— 2 methamphetamine bongs, a glass pipe with residue and 10 grams of methamphetamine found on the top shelf of a closet.
— 1.1 grams of methamphetamine in a baggie found on the top shelf of a closet.
— Plastic ziplock baggies in a red cooler in the bedroom
— A cowboy hat on a shelf with 1.2 grams of methamphetamine.
— 2 plastic bindles found in the trash can on the back patio.
— Burglary tools, including a lock pick set found on a dresser in the bedroom.
— Baggie with powder found in a room, which tested positive for methamphetamine.
Due to the findings, it was determined Wyatt was not only using drugs but also selling drugs. Therefore he was arrested for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of burglary tools, a gross misdemeanor, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail amount listed: $21,137.
— A 41-year-old man, Phillip Jay Eubanks, was arrested Sunday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia and a parole and probation hold. No bail hold in lieu of a hearing.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 5:19 a.m. in the area of East William and State Street for suspicion of DUI. Bail: $1,137.
— A 45-year-old man was arrested Sunday, 5:10 a.m. for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and failure to maintain a lane. Bail: $1,224.
