Carson City deputies make arrests for disorderly conduct, probation violation and warrants
A 61-year-old man was arrested Thursday for suspicion of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and four counts alternative sentencing violation, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the area of Highway 50 East and North Deer Run Road in reference to a man screaming in the middle of the road and waving a metal pole, according to the arrest report. Deputies were advised who the man was and that he was on Carson City Department of Alternative Sentencing with several conditions to obey the law.
Officers spoke with the reporting party who advised they were stopped at the stop light and observed the man holding metal pole, who then crossed the southbound lane, stopped in the middle of the road, looked at them, walked to their truck where he waved the pole back and forth and aggressively yelled at them. The reporting party stated they feared for their safety. The driver drove away and reported the incident.
Because the man approached the reporting party and began to yell in a threatening manner, the deputy determined the man was disturbing the peace. The reporting party completed a citizens arrest form. Department of Alternative Sentencing advised to arrest the man on four counts of violation with a bail amount of $12,000 cash.
