Carson City traffic stop leads to multiple juvenile arrests for drug possession offenses
On Wednesday, Carson City Sheriff's Office traffic deputies were participating in a Joining Forces operation, looking for traffic violations and specifically for distracted driving violations.
A Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on a white four-door sedan for speeding on North Carson Street. The deputy contacted the driver and while speaking with the driver and passengers it was discovered they were all juveniles.
One passenger was wanted on a felony warrant for drug charges out of Reno and another passenger was in possession of drug paraphernalia.
A substantial amount of Schedule 1 drugs were located in the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody for possession for sales of schedule 1 drugs and marijuana as well as traffic violation charges. All three occupants were transported to the Carson City Juvenile Detention facility. Further investigation is being conducted.
