Carson City weekend includes outdoor concert, train rides, prison tours, movie in the park and more
As temperatures cool off a bit, activities in the Carson City area stay consistent as live music, an outdoor movie in the park, and farmer’s market circle back around for another weekend.
The Levitt AMP Carson City outdoor concert series will continue with live music and art on Saturday, July 17 with Rojai and the Pocket from 7 to 10 p.m. All concerts will be held in the BAC’s outdoor amphitheatre and are free of charge. A full list of this summer’s performers can be found here.
The family summer movie series continues in Mills Park this Friday, July 16 with a screening of “Toy Story.” Presented by the Carson City Cinema Club, the movie will begin at 8:30 p.m. and is free of charge. Go to the story here for more information.
The Carson City Department of Parks, Recreation, and Open Space will host a ‘Summer Tot Trot’ this Saturday in the Carson River Park from 10 to 11 a.m. Activities include a scavenger hunt along the trail while exploring the area. Tickets and more information can be found here.
The Nevada State Railroad Museum will be giving train rides on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at their location on S. Carson Street. The Virginia & Truckee locomotive engine No. 25 will be fired up for rides until 2:40 p.m. For more information and tickets, go here.
The Carson City Farmer’s Market returns for another Saturday at its temporary location east of the Carson Nugget in the parking lot at 412 N. Stewart Street from 8:30 a.m to 1 p.m. More information can be found here.
Tours will be available at the Nevada State Prison every day this weekend on Saturday, July 17. Presented by the Nevada State Preservation Society, tour times will proceed every hour from 10-1 p.m. Tickets are $15 a person. Go here for tickets and more information.
Living the Good Life Nightclub, Bistro and Lounge will present live music from the Lost Reverends on Friday, July 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. in their outside venue. The Bank Saloon will present live music from Tim Goldsmith on Friday night and Kingwhistler on Saturday night from 7 to 10 p.m. Both events are free of charge and open to the public.
Bella Vita Bistro will host live music from Moxy Ruckus on Friday evening at 5:45 p.m. in their location inside the Carson Mall. Reservations are advised, call 775-515-4300 to save your spot.
