Restorative director of the Sutro Tunnel to give presentation to Dayton Historical Society

Interested in learning more about the history of the famous Sutro Tunnel that is located about a mile north of Dayton? If so, please attend the Historical Society of Dayton Valley’s General Membership meeting on Wednesday, July 20, at the Dayton Community Center, when Chris Pattison, director of today’s project that is renovating the Sutro tunnel and town site, speaks about Sutro’s past, present and future at 1:30 pm bringing the meeting to an exciting end. The Community Center is at 170 Pike Street.
Please note: The business part of the meeting begins at 12:30 and includes reports on the rebuilding of the Dayton Depot that was burned by an arson on June 17, 2020, new exhibits at the Dayton Museum, a new plaque at the Odeon Hall and Saloon to remember when Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable and Montgomery Clift were in Old Town making The Misfits movie, and that 200 members of different Clampers’ groups had toured Dayton’s historical sites on Saturday, July 16.
