Carson City arrests: Man asking patrons for money booked for alleged drug offenses
A 29-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday morning for alleged drug related offenses, including possession with intent to sell narcotics, a Carson City sheriff's report states.
Robert Sean Underwood was taken into custody at 2:39 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Edmonds suspicion of possession with intent to sell a schedule 1 drug, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription; misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and two bench warrants issued out of Douglas County.
According to the arrest report, CCSO deputies were dispatched to a casino in reference to a suspicious subject in an orange shirt who was acting strange and asking patrons for money.
Deputies arrived and observed a man in an orange shirt playing a slot machine. Security advised the man in the orange shirt was man they had called about, the report states.
Underwood identified himself and provided a California license, which dispatch advised the man had a felony warrant out of Reno and two misdemeanor warrants out of Douglas County. At the time of the arrest, Reno was attempting to confirm its warrant, the report states.
The man stated he had Suboxone strips in a small coin purse and gave the officer consent to go into the coin purse. Officers retrieved 9 strips in the coin purse. The man stated he had a prescription for the Suboxone but that it was in California. Also found in a bag were two hypodermic needles, a used cotton filter, a rubber tourniquet, and a small zip-lock bag with a tar-like substance suspected to be heroin, a scale and $280 in cash. He was arrested and booked without incident. Bail: $10,328.
— A 22-year-old Mound House man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Jared Austin Sanders was taken into custody at 11:29 p.m. in the area of Carson River Park.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area for a report of subjects launching fireworks.
Upon arrival, deputies observed two vehicles in the parking lot. A deputy asked the driver one of the vehicles if he had any weapons in the vehicle. The driver, Sanders, stated he had his gun in the vehicle, the report states.
The man gave the officer consent to go into the vehicle to retrieve the gun. The officer opened the door and was met with a strong odor of marijuana and a marijuana pipe was in plain view of the center console, the report states.
The man told deputies he stopped at the park to "smoke a bowl" and was nervous about seeing the other vehicle and had loaded his firearm. Deputies retrieved a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, which was placed on the seat cushion of the front passenger seat.
The firearm was loaded with one round in the chamber, the report states. He also had a concealed holster on his belt for the firearm and a magazine pouch on his belt with an extra loaded magazine for the firearm. He was arrested for suspicion of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, a felony. Bail: $15,000.
— A 25-year-old Sacramento woman was arrested Tuesday for a misdemeanor criminal contempt warrant issued April 15, 2020 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
— A 39-year-old transient was arrested Tuesday, 8:20 a.m. in the 1200 block of North Carson Street for suspicion of misdemeanor petit larceny. The man was found to be in possession of vodka and a beer that he had allegedly stolen from a convenience store. Bail: $250.
