Live music returns to Carson City this week with Levitt-Amp funk, jazz and orchestra concerts
Music will be pouring through the streets this week in the capital city, and between the various concerts, there truly is something for everyone!
The first will be jazz on Tuesday, then strings on Friday and funk with a dash of rock and ‘desert twang’ on Saturday.
Tuesday
Mile High Jazz Band will present “Red, White, and Blues,” a live, in-person performance on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It’s an outdoor dinner show at Living the Good Life Bistro, 1480 N. Carson Street in Carson City.
The program includes favorite big-band jazz tunes and features the vocal stylings of Jakki Ford.

Friday
The Carson City Symphony Association will be hosting two free programs as a part of the “Strings in the Summer 2021” program for string-instrument players of all ages, one in July and one in August.
Following the four-day program, a concert will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 9.

Saturday
Levitt AMP, Carson City’s summer-long free concert series, will be kicking off the season this Saturday with a double-headliner: Jelly Bread, a locally-born, nationally-touring funk-rock band, will be starting the night at 7 p.m.
At 8:30 p.m., the second headliner, Sal’s Green House from Oakland, Calif., will be finishing it off with their distinctive funky tunes.
Levitt AMP is held at the Brewery Arts Center on the Change Companies Stage which is located at 449 West King Street. The concert is free to all. For more information about the summer concert series, click here.
