Fire destroys mobile home in Carson City, 3 adults and 2 dogs escape
Fire destroyed a Tiger Drive mobile home early Monday morning, with three adults and two dogs able to get out safely, according to a Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief.
The fire was reported at 12:51 a.m. There was an initial threat to nearby homes and vehicles, but firefighters were able to stop the spread, having knocked down the flames quickly upon arrival, said CCFD Battalion Chief Micah Horton.
There were no injuries but the residence itself was destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Meanwhile, Horton says there were no fires around the Carson City area on Sunday that were due to illegal fireworks, and that the fireworks show at Mills Park went off without any problems.
Earlier Sunday Carson City Fire Department crews managed to get to 100 percent containment of the Prison Hill Fire, which started Friday and was caused by lightening. The fire burned around 170 acres. No structures were damaged.
