Brush fire Monday night near Cave Rock briefly closes US-50
A brush fire near Cave Rock at Lake Tahoe briefly closed Highway 50 in both directions Monday night. It has since been reopened.
At around 9:30 p.m. Tahoe Douglas Fire was alerted to a small brush fire burning along Highway 50 near the Cave Rock boat landing. According to the Tahoe Douglas Fire Twitter page, the fire was a little more than an acre.
After the fire was extinguished, US-50 reopened shortly before 11 p.m., according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
