Capital City Hoops youth basketball camps return to Carson City
The second annual Capital City Hoops boys and girls summer basketball programs returns to the Carson City MAC July 9-12 with spots still available.
The Capital City Hoopaholics event will promote skills and teamwork with the help of current Carson High basketball coach Jordan Glover and professional players Roger Carlson, UNR alum Olek Czyz and Bobby Hunter.
“I knew there were kids out here who enjoyed basketball, but there hasn’t been a program in town these kids can play for,” Glover said. “So that’s why we were really excited to start the Capital City Hoops program.”
The program also holds a Saturday Skills and Drills session at the CHS gymnasium, teaching kids ages 6-14 the proper basketball fundamentals, team sportsmanship and positive work ethics.
“Capital City Hoops has provided an amazing opportunity for my children to learn and improve,” mother and basketball enthusiast Jenica Keller said. “Their leadership is professional, organized and committed. And most importantly, they love what they do and will not turn their back on anyone.”
Last but not least, the Back to School Hoop Bash comes to the Carson City MAC August 6-9
“Programs like these fill a need within the community,” Glover added. “They promote a great work ethic, commitment, sportsmanship and accountability.”
