Rebuilding Together Northern Nevada appoints New Executive Director
Rebuilding Together Northern Nevada, Inc. (RTNNV) is pleased to announce the appointment of Meg Shea to succeed Kate Pace as its new Executive Director, effective July 1, 2023. Ms. Pace will be remaining with RTNNV as a Director of the corporation.
Ms. Shea comes to RTNNV after a sterling and varied career in the private sector, including asset management, consulting, development, and real estate investment and housing support. A graduate of St. Mary’s College with degrees in Business Administration and Economics, she has lived full-time in Reno since 2015. Shea is an avid outdoor enthusiast who can be found swimming in local lakes and hiking mountain trails.
“I am honored and excited by this opportunity to join Rebuilding Together Northern Nevada and add my contribution to its important mission of making homes in northern Nevada safer and healthier for our neighbors in need and allowing them to age in place with dignity. I am looking forward to working with all our partners, contributors, and other stakeholders to expand Rebuilding Together’s reach and impact on our community,” Ms. Shea said.
As RTNNV’s founder, first Board President, and current executive director, Ms. Pace has taken the non-profit organization from its inception in 2020 as an all-volunteer operation to a professionally staffed leader in providing home repairs and safety improvements to lower-income homeowners in Reno, Sparks, and Carson City.
From inception, RTNNV has made over 647 repairs to 122 homes, at no cost to the homeowners. Having successfully launched RTNNV and brought it this far, Ms. Pace has asked to step down from her position as Executive Director and return to membership on the Board of Directors.
“It’s been a privilege to serve as Rebuilding Together’s first Executive Director, and I’m proud of all we’ve accomplished so far. There’s so much more to do, and I am confident that Meg will provide the leadership needed to take us to the next level. I look forward eagerly to working with her as we move forward with our critical mission of helping homeowners in need throughout northern Nevada,” said Ms. Pace.
