Carson City man allegedly spit, kicked and head butted officers during arrest
A Carson City man was arrested early Tuesday for suspicion of four counts felony battery on a protected person and other offenses after deputies attempted to place him in custody.
Jesus Perez-Sanchez was taken into custody at 1:45 a.m. at a 600 Hot Springs Road residence. He was also booked for suspicion of gross misdemeanor projecting bodily fluid, second offense domestic battery, and a Department of Alternative Sentencing suspended sentence violation.
One other person, the suspect's mother, was also booked for misdemeanor suspicion of obstructing an officer.
According to the booking report, deputies arrived at the residence following a report of a man challenging his family members to a fight, in which the family members were holding him down.
Deputies arrived and could hear several people shouting from inside the residence. A deputy entered the residence and saw two males and a woman holding down the suspect. The males were the suspect's brothers, and the female, the suspect's mother.
Deputies attempted to detain the man, taking his arms. The suspect's mother, however, refused to release him. The suspect then spit into the face of a sergeant, the report states.
Deputies attempted to place the suspect in handcuffs but he continued to fight and kicked multiple deputies who were attempting to detain him, according to the report.
Deputies managed to get the man in handcuffs and placed him in the back of a patrol unit. As a deputy attempted to leave, he could hear someone on a phone in the backseat. It was the suspect, who had managed to move his handcuffs to the front of his body, even though he was handcuffed with his hands behind his back, the report states.
The deputy opened the door to the vehicle, where the suspect lunged at the officer and then threw his phone at the officer. The suspect then head butted the deputy in the chest, kicked him again in the chest, stomach and legs, the report states.
He was booked into jail for four counts battery on a protected person, projecting bodily fluids, domestic battery second offense and a DAS violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $30,000 bondable, and $1,000 cash only.

— A 27-year-old Reno man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of felony possession of controlled substance for sales, possession of a controlled substance and other offenses.
Tyler James Portue was taken into custody a 2:32 p.m. following a traffic stop at North Ormsby and Homann Way. He was also booked for suspicion of having a prescription drug without a prescription, driving on a suspended license, driving an unregistered vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
During the investigation, officers located a black pouch on the driver's floorboard that contained two clear plastic bags containing heroin, two clear plastic bags containing methamphetamine, a straw containing drug residue, tin foil with heroin residue, and a glass smoking pipe with burned residue. In the center console of the vehicle, deputies located tin foil and a number of clear plastic bags commonly used to distribute narcotics, the report states.
On the driver's side change drawer, deputies located a Diazepam pill, in which a prescription is required. The suspect did not have a prescription.
On the passenger seat, officers located a backpack that contained a black scale with heroin residue. In the trunk of the vehicle, deputies located a green scale with heroin residue. In the back seat inside a luggage bag, officers located a red glass meth smoking pipe with burned residue. The weight of the methamphetamine seized was 2.1 grams. The weight of the heroin, was 2.6 grams. Bail: $20,000.
