Carson City jail inmate set for release booked on home invasion, burglary warrant
A 35-year-old Carson City man set to be released from jail Tuesday was booked on a felony warrant issued June 20 out Douglas County, a sheriff's deputy said.
Taylor Michael Peart, an inmate at Carson City Jail, was to be released after bail had been posted.
Before the release, Peart was checked for warrants. It was learned he had a felony warrant out of East Fork Justice Court in Douglas County alleging home invasion, burglary and grand larceny, according to the arrest report. Bail: $20,000.
In other arrests:
— An 18-year-old Carson City man, Quinten James Taylor, was arrested for a felony juvenile probation violation warrant issued June 25, 2018 out of Juvenile District Court. A 19-year-old Carson City man, Deven Orlando Brawner, was also arrested for a felony warrant alleging possession of a firearm.
Taylor also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving without a valid driver’s license and having an obstructed plate.
According to the arrest report, a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Long and State streets on a Toyota SUV with obstructed license plates.
The deputy advised the driver why he was stopped and asked for his license, registration and proof of insurance. The driver, who identified himself as Taylor, said he did not have a valid license. Brawner also identified himself and stated he also did not have a valid license.
The deputy conducted a routine wants and warrant check for both men and learned each had confirmed outstanding felony warrants for their arrest.
Both men were detained without incident. As part of a felony stop, the deputy did an interior sweep of the SUV and located two clear plastic bags containing a small amount of marijuana, within the immediate vicinity of Taylor, who is 18. Taylor and Brawner were held without bail in a lieu of a hearing on the felony warrants. The remaining bail amount for Taylor was $1,001.
— A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday at a Roberta Way residence for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, a sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called at 5:45 p.m. to the area after dispatch received a 911 call with an open line. Dispatch notified deputies of a loud disturbance in the background and was potentially a domestic call.
A deputy with a body cam arrived and made contact with the suspect outside of his residence. The man was calm in demeanor with blood covering his chest and shoulder areas. He remained with the deputy while another deputy went inside of the residence to speak with the victim, who was crying and had blood on her face that was coming from her nose.
Investigating deputies learned the two had got into an argument that became physical and that she was struck in the face by the suspect, the report states. When she attempted to leave, the man allegedly hit her with the flat part of his hand, striking her in the nose.
The suspect was interviewed and said the woman punched herself in the nose causing it to bleed. He told the deputy the woman then said she was going to call the cops to have him arrested. The man did not have injuries. He was determined to be the primary aggressor and arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
— A 48-year-old Dayton woman was arrested early Wednesday in the area of Carson and Proctor streets for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant, issued March 12, 2018 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
