Carson City emergency crews called to crash involving motorcycle on Highway 50 East
Carson City sheriff's deputies and Carson City Fire Department were called Wednesday afternoon to a motorcycle crash involving a vehicle in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East near the Country Store.
The crash was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m. The status of the rider and passenger is unknown at this time. According to first responders, a motorcycle collided with a vehicle and a passenger of the motorcycle was ejected.
The rider and passenger were going to be transported by ground ambulance to the trauma ward of Renown Medical Center in Reno.
Traffic is being diverted around the crash. Motorists can expect delays.
Meanwhile, minutes before the motorcycle crash firefighters were called to the 3900 block of Fairview in a field for a brush fire. The 10 foot by 10 foot fire had been mostly extinguished by neighbors with fire extinguishers by the time firefighters arrived. The cause is under investigation.
