Carson City Fire Department called to assist with northwest Reno brush fire
The Carson City Fire Department responded Tuesday afternoon for mutual aid Type 1 fire engine assist due to a brush fire near Somersett in northwest Reno.
CCFD got the call out at around 12:30 p.m. The fire was reported at around noon near Clubhouse Drive and Beaumont Parkway near the former Northgate Golf Club. Reno Fire Department asked outside agencies for immediate assistance due to gusty winds.

A low pressure system moving into the region is causing gusty wind conditions throughout the region. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for gusty winds and low humidity beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday through 11 p.m. Thursday. Forecasters say we can expect sustained winds from the west to southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35-plus mph each afternoon Wednesday and Thursday.
