Did you feel them? Series of several small earthquakes shake Fernley area Sunday
A series of small earthquakes shook east of Fernley in Lyon County on Sunday afternoon, with the largest thus far being 2.9 in magnitude, according to the Nevada Seismological Laboratory.
The 2.9 earthquake was reported at 2:01 p.m. and was located 9.7 miles east of Fernley. At 2:59 p.m. there was a 2.7 magnitude earthquake.
There was a 1.6 magnitude quake at 1:59 p.m., a 2.8 quake at 1:51 p.m., a 2.4 at 1:36 p.m. a 2.7 at 12:09 p.m. and a 2.6 magnitude earthquake, also recorded at 12:09 p.m. Sunday.
