PlayBox Marketplace, a second hand goods store, opens shop on Highway 50 in Carson City
A second hand store has opened up shop on Highway 50 E. in Carson City near Airport Road, and it’s offering 5,000 square feet of unique offerings.
PlayBox Marketplace opened their new location at 3060 U.S. Highway 50 E. on June 1 according to owner Alex Kyser, after they moved from a much smaller location near Classy Seconds.
PlayBox Marketplace offers second hand goods from antiques, to boutique, to thrift, tools, clothing, housewares, furniture, and everything in between.
“We try to keep prices as low as possible,” said Kyser. “We’re more of a community partner in helping people. I just want to make a fair living and for me, I’m not looking for the big house on the hill.”
Kyser said that they are picky about the items that they accept, and they source a lot of their goods from purchasing storage units. Any item they take in to resell must be clean and if it is electronic, must be functional.
“We’re a small business and we’re trying to offer second hand items that are usable and in good condition,” said Kyser.
They chose the new spot near Airport Road due to its location and visibility, but also because the space allows them to be more organized in the goods they offer, said Kyser.
You can stop by PlayBox Marketplace and view the selection of goods yourself by visiting the new location at 3060 U.S. Highway 50 E. Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
