Pleasant Valley brush fire under control, I-580 between Carson City and Reno now open
UPDATE 7:25PM: All previous fire-related highway closures have been removed between Reno and Carson City. I-580, Alt. US 395 and Mt. Rose Highway all open, but avoid the area if possible to leave room for continued fire response and residents returning to their homes.
UPDATE 6:10PM: From NDOT: I-580 South near Eastlake Boulevard Road remains closed. Old Highway 395 opened to center lane traffic only. Watch for fire equipment and exercise caution.Mt Rose Highway between Wedge Parkway and I-580, westbound now fully opened. Eastbound remains closed. I-580 South at South Virginia Street, South Virginia off-ramps only closed.
Per Truckee Meadows Fire via Twitter: Fire crews have stopped further spread of the #PetrillaFire. Crews will be working throughout the night securing the fire line and mopping up. Please continue to avoid the area.
UPDATE 4:31PM: Per NHP Trooper Hannah DeGoey: An alternate route from Carson City would be to take Highway 50 to SR 341 Geiger Grade. With traffic shut at Damonte, motorists can take Veterans Parkway, which will lead motorists into Reno, opposite of the fire. Motorists can also take USA Parkway to I-80, which leads into Reno.
UPDATE 4:21PM: From NDOT: I-580 closed from Eastlake Boulevard to Damonte Ranch; SR-431 (Mt. Rose Highway) closed Wedge Parkway to US-395A; US-395A closed Damonte Ranch to Andrew Lane in Pleasant Valley. Reports are Lakeview Hill is experiencing traffic backup. Highway updates: http://nvroads.com
UPDATE 410PM: Facilities for animals in Washoe County are full due to the Reno Rodeo. Carson City has opened Fuji Park for any person in the evacuation area to place animals and livestock, said CCFD Battalion Chief Jason Danen.

Truckee Meadows Fire is reporting a brush fire Wednesday afternoon off Cheyenne Drive in Pleasant Valley in Washoe County. Homes are threatened, evacuations are underway and roads have been closed.
The fire has forced the closure of I-580 closed near Old U.S. 395 exit 16 at Bowers Mansion, Old U.S. 395 closed both directions near Cheyenne Drive and Old U.S. 395 closed both directions between Rhodes Road to Andrew Lane.
Carson City Fire Department has sent brush unit 51, battalion 50, Chief 502 and, also its Capital City Hand Crew to support NV Energy infrastructure, said CCFD Battalion Chief Jason Danen.
Truckee Meadows Fire reports people and motorists are impeding access to the fire and advise those to areas in Pleasant Valley and Mt Rose Highway near Sierra Summit.
Named the #PetrillaFire it is estimated at 300 acres as of around 3:30 p.m.
An evacuation center has been set up at Damonte High School. According to NV Energy, more than 4,000 residences are without power in the Pleasant Valley and Washoe Valley areas.
