New Smart Foodservice will serve the public in Carson City
A new Smart Foodservice Warehouse Store planned at 222 Fairview Drive in Carson City, next door to Office Depot, will offer products for both individual consumers and businesses alike, corporate spokesman Ryan Weedon said.
"We are open to the public," he said. "Though Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores cater primarily to the foodservice industry, they also offer an easy, affordable option for non-profit organizations, schools, church groups, caterers and other individuals looking to purchase larger product quantities at lower prices."
The warehouse-style wholesaler, formerly known as Cash and Carry, is the Portland, Oregon-based food service subsidiary of Smart and Final Stores, LLC, headquarted in Commerce, CA, Weedon said.
A proposed new 16,000 square-foot store in Carson City will feature more than 8,000 products, including fresh produce, fresh meats, cheeses, dairy and deli products, frozen foods, grocery products, baking ingredients, beverages, breads, tortillas, janitorial supplies, catering supplies, tableware and barware, Weedon said.
"The unique layout and product offerings provide customers with large food service needs the opportunity to quickly and easily navigate our store and get the products they are looking for," he said. "For over 60 years, the company has offered a wide-range of larger quantity products in a convenient one-stop shop."
Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores currently operates 64 retail locations in seven western states, including one at 115 Kietzke Lane in Reno. The Carson City store would be the company's second Nevada location.
