'The Story of Carson High' presented Tuesday during Rotary Club of Carson City meeting
Carson High School has an extensive collection of artifacts and memorabilia. Now, thanks to a grant from the Rotary Club of Carson City that collection is being housed, catalogued and preserved for future generations.
The most recent recipient of the Rotary Club of Carson City Educational Grant, Carson High School Librarian Ananda Campbell, used the money to fund that project titled “The Story of Carson High School.” The club awards the $5,000 grant annually to an educator to launch an innovative classroom-based project that isn’t already funded by the school district.
The Rotarians will learn how the recently completed project turned out when Campbell and several colleagues join them at the club’s next meeting on Tuesday, June 8 at 12:30 p.m. at the Carson Nugget. The public is invited to attend.
“The Rotary Club of Carson City awards the grant as part of its commitment to support and recognize educational achievement” said Rotarian Fernando Serrano. “As part of that commitment our club also funds college scholarships and other educational opportunities for local young people. We are looking forward to the presentation and welcome anyone with ties to the school to attend as well.”
