Summer family movie nights return to Carson City, first showing at WNC baseball field
The summer activities list for Carson City keeps growing, this time with the return of the Family Movie Night series, with outdoor film screenings six weeks through summer.
Garrett Lepire, broker and salesperson with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Drysdale Properties, and Rhonda Abend, director of the Carson City Classic Cinema Club have teamed up to sponsor the fourth annual movie series.
To kick off the outdoor series, "Field of Dreams” will be screened on the John L. Harvey Field at Western Nevada College, Friday, June 18 at 8:30 p.m.
All other movies will be screened at Mills Park every Friday evening from June 25 through July 30, with the exception of July 2 due to the holiday weekend. All movies are free of charge.
“Cars” is scheduled to screen on June 25, “What About Bob” on July 9, “Toy Story” on July 16, “Homeward Bound” on July 23, and “Zootopia” on July 30 to finish the series.
Food trucks will be parked at the movie site in Mills Park as well as portable bathrooms on-site for all movie-goers’ convenience.
