Carson City man jailed for felony domestic battery, allegedly strikes victim in head with flashlight
A 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of felony domestic battery with substantial bodily harm, a sheriff's deputy report states.
Jaime Bustamante was taken into custody at 8:10 a.m. in the 500 block of West College Parkway following an investigation into an incident earlier that morning.
It is alleged the man struck his adult daughter in the upper right head near the temple with the back end of a flash light, causing the victim to go limp and to fall to the ground, the arrest report states. The incident happened at around 1:18 a.m. in the pool commons area of apartments located at 20 College Parkway, according to the report.
The incident was witnessed by others in the complex, who advised that after the suspect assaulted the victim, he was tackled by two unidentified men, who knocked him to the ground and punched him repeatedly, fleeing the scene prior to arrival of deputies, according to the arrest report. Bail: $15,000.
In other arrests:
— A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. The incident happened in the 4000 block of Pheasant Drive. Deputies investigating the incident learned it happened on May 31, and that there was video evidence.
Carson City Sheriff's deputies observed the video, taken the night of the incident, where the man was seen pinning the female victim to the couch and the victim telling the man to get off of her, the report states. Bail: $3,137.
— A 19-year-old Minden man was arrested, booked and released on a contempt of court warrant issued April 29, 2020 out of Carson City Justice Court. According to the arrest report, the man went to the booking lobby at Carson City jail and turned himself in on the warrant.
