New location, same great produce: Carson City Farmers Market begins this Saturday

The Carson Farmers Market is kicking off the summer of 2021 and is getting back to the sense of community and connection they once had before COVID-19.
The Farmers Market will begin this Saturday, June 5 and runs every Saturday through the last weekend in September from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There is a real sense of community at our local farmers market. It’s the place to be on a Saturday morning and fun to run into someone you know or who lives down the street and shares your same interest in buying fresh local produce from the person who grows it.
You see most of the same vendors and customers at the market every week. Offering that kind of community connection is addicting.
Each Saturday our local parking lot — this year it’s at a new temporary location, located east of the Carson Nugget in the parking lot at 412 N. Stewart Street — is transformed into a community gathering place hosted by Carson Farmers Market.
In the early morning hours vendors begin setting up fresh produce and baked goods while local artisans display their work. You may also find a couple non-profit’s that add to our community.
Soon thereafter the parking lot welcomes the community customers who network with the small businesses that support our community.
You don’t just find the seasonal ripe produce or the sweet ear of corn, but just being at the market has a fun vibe. Chatting with so many individuals who are looking for fresh local produce and look forward to their weekly visit to the farmers market.
Talking and learning from our farmers who travel to the market every week and appreciating the hard work that goes into a day of harvesting, cleaning and sorting to sell their valued produce and then tell you how it’s best eaten and used in recipes.
It’s the whole farmers market experience and you just can’t get that in a grocery store.
