Carson City Sheriff's Office 'Click It or Ticket' event removes methamphetamine off the streets
On May 29 during the “Click It or Ticket” Joining Forces event, Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop on a white SUV for speeding and attempting to elude. Deputies eventually made contact with the driver when he pulled into a dead-end off of Airport Road.
The driver attempted to hide his identity, however, was identified as Augustine R. Garcia, an ex-felon with outstanding arrest warrants. Garcia was taken into custody for the outstanding warrants and traffic violations. A substantial amount of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun were located inside Garcia’s vehicle. Garcia was also booked on the additional charges of drug possession and possession of drugs for sale as well as possession of a handgun by a prohibited person.
Deputies are out every day conducting traffic stops and proactive enforcement of laws, with the goal of reducing criminal activity and keeping the streets safe for the citizens and visitors in and around Carson City.
