Carson City Sheriff Furlong: 'We are fully prepared to protect our town' in regards to protests
UPDATE 2PM SUNDAY: A number of young adults were spotted around the capitol building early Sunday afternoon. It turns out several of them are playing Pokemon Go, according to a CCSO deputy. A few demonstrators were spotted near the capitol as well. A Carson City Sheriff's Office sergeant noted they were friendly and even asked CCSO to join them, which they respectfully declined.

UPDATE 7:38AM SUNDAY: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong reports there were no incidents of vandalism overnight in Carson City. He said the city was staffed and well prepared and noted some officers were sent to assist Reno police there.

In response to the protests occurring in Reno Saturday night, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong stated that the Carson City Sheriff's Department has preparations in place should any protest move to Carson City.
"We are taking precautions," said Furlong. "We will not be surprised and we are more than prepared to protect this town."
Furlong also said that the Carson City Sheriff's Office has units ready to assist Reno PD should they need assistance.
There are currently no protests planned for Carson City, though one protester was reported to be outside the Carson City Sheriff's Office according to dispatch.
