Local CBD company to give away 100 gallons of hand sanitizer Friday to Carson City businesses
This Friday, May 29, local company Nevada Labs will be giving away 100, 1-gallon jugs of hand sanitizer to local business owners as a way to help the reopening of Carson City under Phase 2.
Nevada Labs is a manufacturer of dietary supplements and cannabidiol (CBD) owned by Centuria Foods based in Carson City.
According to manager Adam Bannister, in April the company began repurposing in order to produce hand sanitizer in the ongoing fight against COVID-19.
"One of the things we already had on hand here was ethanol which is used in our CBD processing," said Bannister. "We were able to quickly switch to hand sanitizer and we just want to be able to give back to the community."
Nevada Labs is located at 4610 Arrowhead Way, and Bannister said they will be putting up a drive-thru tent from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. to distribute the free hand sanitizer.
Interested local business owners will need to bring a business card to exchange, as a way for the Nevada Labs team to make sure those receiving the sanitizer are local.
"We've been lucky enough we could keep open during the shut down and if we can help others welcome new clients and customers to their business, we're happy to help," said Bannister. "We just want to make sure we're supporting everyone else in the area."
The sanitizer is created with an FDA-approved formula that consists of he proper concentrations of ethanol, glycerol, hydrogen peroxide and sterile distilled water to eliminate possible viruses it comes into contact with, said Bannister.
The sanitizer is also available to purchase wholesale through Nevada Labs.
The sanitizer will be distributed to the first 100 local businesses on a first come, first served basis.
There is also the promotion code "Carson" set up for customers looking for Hand Sanitizer, and will get 40% off for all locals.
