The Marine Corps League honors the fallen at Memorial Day celebration of Native American veterans
The Marine Corps League held its annual Memorial Day celebration of Native American veterans Monday at the Stewart Indian School Cemetery in Carson City.
Veterans and attendees paid their respect to fallen service members by participating in prayer, reflection and observing their resting places, thanking them for their commitment and sacrifice.
“It is a day to respect those who have lost their lives in battle and the native contributions as well,” Major Gary Armstrong said. “They were a huge help during those wars, and we make it out duty to never forget their honor and sacrifice.”
Lone Mountain Cemetery will hold its annual Memorial Day ceremony in Carson City at 1 p.m.
