Nevada State Parks to allow camping with some restrictions beginning Friday under Phase 2
Overnight camping at Nevada State Parks will be allowed with capacity restrictions under the governor's reopening directives for Phase 2, beginning this Friday, May 29.
Posted to the Nevada State Parks "Frequently Asked Questions" webpage on Wednesday, the announcement notes that "per the Governor's Phase 2 of the Roadmap to Recovery, Nevada State Parks campgrounds are scheduled to reopen on Friday, May 29, with restrictions." It further states that campgrounds will be limited to 50 percent capacity.
"Nevada State Parks campgrounds will reopen on Friday, May 29, at 8 a.m., with restrictions. Campgrounds will be limited to 50% capacity. In most cases, every other campsite will be open to camping, with the remainder being designated as closed. Campgrounds will be monitored and campsite closures enforced. Please come prepared with an alternate destination in mind in the event that campgrounds are full. When visiting a Nevada State Park, we ask that all visitors follow the CDC’s guidelines on outdoor recreation and practice 'responsible recreation' which includes recreating locally and camping close to home," the FAQ states.
