A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday morning for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, gross misdemeanor destruction of property, and misdemeanor domestic battery, a sheriff's deputy report said.

Dispatch advised the victim, who was involved in the domestic battery, had left the residence as was located nearby. Dispatch advised the male involved was still at the residence and was the only person in the home.

A deputy arrived and witnessed the man standing in the center of the road. The officer got out of his patrol vehicle and saw the man holding an object in each of his hands that resembled knives. He was asked by the officer what was going on, the report states.

The man replied "You tell me." The officer replied by saying "I don't know. I don't even know who you are." The officer asked the man what was in his hands and the suspect replied not to worry about it. The officer instructed the man to show him his hands. The man told the officer "shoot me." The officer again told the man to show him what was in his hands. The man replied "suicide by cop," the report states.

The officer had his flashlight pointed in the man's direction so the officer could see what was in his hands. The man said he would talk if the officer turned off the flashlight. The officer said he wasn't going to turn the light off and the man then began backing toward the driveway and said "then go ahead and shoot me. I'm not scared to die," the arrest report states.

The man turned around and walked into the garage, stating, "Im not scared to die. Are you?" And then went through the door in the garage and into the residence.

More deputies arrived on scene as well as the watch commander and the sheriff. A deputy spoke with the victim who stated her boyfriend had pushed her to the ground, bit her finger and poured dog water all over her.

Deputies believed the suspect was still in the residence and so commands were given over the PA system to come out of house with his hands in the air. Dispatched advised they were attempting to called the man but were unable to make contact. After approximately 15-20 minutes of commands, deputies searched the residence and backyard. He was not found at the residence.

Deputies searched the residence for evidence and found three knives with broken blades in the driveway, a piece of blade that was sticking to the side wall of one of the victim's Jeep tires, the front passenger tire had been slashed and was flat, and the hood of the victim's vehicle had been dented and scratched.

There was a glass flamingo strung through the driveway and the garage, and a knife blade that had a bent blade in the kitchen. She said the man then kicked her in the legs multiple times and threw a dog bowl of water on her. She said she was able to get away from the man and went to a neighbor's residence for help, the report states.

Later, dispatch was advised the man was at the sheriff's office with a relative and was to turn himself in. Officers arrived at the sheriff's office and escorted the man to the jail. He was read his Miranda warning and agreed to speak.
