Carson City Fire Department truck fire caused by electrical short burning insulation
UPDATE 4:18PM: According to Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon, there was an electrical short that burned a small section of insulation on the fire truck, which is now at the fleet division where they are investigating the cause of the short. Damage appears to be very minor.

A Carson City Fire Department truck reportedly experienced a fire early Thursday afternoon, which was quickly put out but the unit was blocking traffic in the area of College Parkway near Nye Lane.
Shortly before 12:15 p.m. the fire department reported to dispatch that it had a vehicle fire. A battalion chief later told dispatch a few minutes later that the fire was extinguished but that the fire truck was blocking traffic in the southbound lane of College Parkway near Nye.
Traffic diverted around the scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. No injuries were reported.
