Carson City woman arrested for beating up boyfriend after he punched her dog
A 38-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 2400 block of Meadowbrook Lane for domestic battery after allegedly punching her boyfriend repeatedly in the face after he punched her dog.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Sean Drive for a report of a physical domestic dispute. The boyfriend called deputies and advised he’d been punched multiple times in the face by his girlfriend.
Upon arrival, deputies noted the man was highly intoxicated and had dried blood under his nose and around his lips. He told deputies he and his girlfriend had friends from work over when they got into a verbal argument.
He told deputies that his girlfriend has a very protective husky and it bit him on the hand during the argument. Deputies noted he had puncture wounds on his hand.
He told deputies that when the dog bit him, he started punching the dog multiple times and threw the dog off him.
At this point, he told deputies, his girlfriend punched him multiple times in the face. He left the residence and called his ex-wife to pick him up.
Deputies went to speak to the girlfriend at her residence and noted she had a “large amount of blood” on her sweatshirt. She told deputies that she and her boyfriend got into an argument and she said she was going to go to bed. The boyfriend told her to sleep on the couch, and she laid down on the couch with the dog on top of her.
The boyfriend came over to her still arguing and the dog, protecting her, bit his right hand. She admitted to deputies that she then punched the boyfriend in the face multiple times.
Deputies took the girlfriend into custody for domestic battery, and her sweatshirt was booked into evidence.

— A 33-year-old Reno man was arrested for DUI first after allegedly smoking cannabis before driving to Carson City to have lunch with his girlfriend.
Deputies stopped the vehicle after it was seen driving approximately 40 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone on N. Carson Street.
When deputies stopped the vehicle, the driver informed deputies he did not have insurance for the vehicle and deputies noted the man had red, watery eyes and the smell of cannabis was evident in the vehicle. A cannabis pipe was visible in the center console, and cannabis was visible in the passenger seat.
The man admitted to smoking cannabis before entering the freeway on Second Street in Reno.
He was taken into custody for DUI first, driving with suspended registration, driving with no proof of insurance, and basic speed.
