Nevada Fire Marshal Division arrest Eureka County man in February arson
A Eureka County man was arrested for suspicion of first degree arson in the Feb. 26 2021 arson fire of a single-family home, the Nevada Department of Public Safety State Fire Marshal Division said Monday.
Law enforcement executed an arrest warrant for Arthur James Miles Jr. with the assistance of the Eureka County Sheriff's Office, on May 13, 2021, according to a Nevada Public Safety news release.
On Feb. 26, 2021, the Eureka County Sheriff's Office informed the State Fire Marshal Division of a possible arson fire involving a single-family home. State Fire Marshal Investigators from Carson City and Las Vegas responded.
During the investigation, Arthur James Miles Jr. became the primary suspect of the fire incident and an arrest warrant was issued. Investigators, working with Eureka County Deputies, served the arrest warrant at Miles's residence. Miles was booked into the Eureka County Detention Center for a charge of arson in the first degree, according to the news release.
Within the past 12 months, the Nevada Department of Public Safety State Fire Marshal Division has made arson related arrests in Lyon County, Pershing County, Lander County and Elko County that have resulted in convictions, the news release states.
