Carson City man arrested after stealing ‘buzzballs,’ allegedly threatening shop manager with knife
A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 1900 block of North Carson St. after allegedly stealing “buzzballs” and threatening a shop manager with a knife.
Deputies responded to the area just after 6 p.m. on report of a robbery.
The shop manager said that the man, later identified as Imran Khan, entered the store and grabbed “buzzballs” — an alcoholic beverage in the shape of a ball — from the shelf and went to leave the store without paying.
When the manager attempted to stop Khan at the door, Khan pushed him out of the way and left the store, according to the report.
In the parking lot, the manager again attempted to ask the man to return the items. Khan allegedly removed a buzzball from his pocket and said, “if you want it, come get it.”
The manager said while he said it, he also produced a knife. The manager told deputies he was worried if he attempted to retrieve the stolen items, he would be stabbed.
When deputies located Khan, he had a 6-inch bladed knife affixed to his pants. The manager positively identified both Khan and the knife.
Khan was taken into custody for felony Robbery with a Deadly Weapon.
Bail: $40,000
