Traffic backed up due to chase, traffic stop involving multiple armed motorcyclists

However, northbound traffic in the valley is still closed by NHP.

Traffic is backed up as of 2:45 p.m. on I-580 near Washoe Valley following a chase and traffic stop involving multiple armed motorcyclists.

A chase began within Carson City jurisdiction involving a motorcyclist who refused to stop and allegedly tried to run deputies off the road, according to dispatch. NHP was called once they entered NHP’s jurisdiction who appear to have taken over the investigation which ended near Bellevue.

As of 2:52 p.m., detectives from Carson City have also been deployed to the incident.

Traffic is backed up at least three miles according to a deputy on scene.

While investigating the incident in Washoe, it was reported that multiple large groups of about 50-80 heavily armed motorcyclists entered Carson City, heading towards the scene.

On Tuesday, Tahoe Forest Products held a community meeting in Indian Hills regarding the construction of a sawmill on Washoe tribal land behind Topsy Lane south of Carson City.

The site of the sawmill, according to developers, is being built on the site of the historic Carson and Tahoe Lumber and Fluming Company, which began during the time of the Comstock Lode discovery.

It was confirmed Tuesday that the deceased body found by divers in a car at Prosser Reservoir on Sunday, August 21 was 16-year-old Kiely Rodni of Truckee.

During a joint press conference Monday in Truckee, law enforcement said it is likely the body found in Prosser Creek Reservoir is that of missing 16-year-old Kiely Rodni. An autopsy is being conducted on Tuesday.
