Bowers Mansion Civil War Reenactment sure to be a blast this weekend
Bowers Mansion Regional Park will kick off its 2019 tour season with a Civil War reenactment this Saturday, May 18, followed by the first Programs on the Porch on May 24.
Hosted by Bowers Mansion Regional Park and Washoe County Parks and Open Space, the event is sure to be a blast, and not just because cannons were definitely a part of the civil war.
“Return to the days of Nevada's statehood, bring a picnic lunch, enjoy the grounds and tour the mansion,” according to a Bowers Mansion release. “The ongoing Civil War exhibits and demonstrations are free.”
In addition, self-guided tours of the mansion will be available for $7 for adults, and $5 for children and seniors.
“Programs on the Porch” will be running as usual through the summer season, beginning Friday May 24.
Programs on the Porch is a free concert series held on the front lawn, with donations accepted for the performers.
The music is held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the dates below, and listeners are encouraged to bring low-backed chairs to blankets to listen and enjoy.
