Registration now open for Camp Carson, grades K-6
Registration is now open for Camp Carson, Carson City’s own STEAM-focused Day Camp hosted by Carson City Parks and Recreation.
Camp Carson is for children entering kindergarten through 6th grade and begins June 14, running through August 6.
STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. According to the program brochure, Camp Carson is a great opportunity for kids to be involved in structured activities throughout the day, while meeting other kids their age. Camp Carson will introduce kids to fun and exciting indoor and outdoor activities that include STEAM, Arts & Crafts, Leave No Trace, Teambuilding, Swimming, and Field Trips.
Camp Carson is priced at $110 per week per child with an optional field trip per week ranging from $20-$25. There are optional swim lessons offered at $44 for two weeks of lessons, held Monday through Thursday.
Campers can check in as early as 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, with the day ending at 6 p.m.; however, parents or guardians can pick their camper up at any time throughout the day.
Optional field trips occur on Fridays and include options such as Splash Parks, Fun Quest, Lake Tahoe Beaches, and more.
New activities for Camp Carson will be added to the different camp programs for the 2021 Summer. Campers will change activities as they advance through the camp program.
(Due to COVID, Camp Quest will not be offered for the Capitals.)
