'Maya's Mind' 20-foot art sculpture installed Saturday in the downtown Carson City area

CARSON CITY — The COVID-19 pandemic truly shook up our worlds, especially that of the healthcare industry. As a result, and to fully embrace its mission of enhancing the health and well-being of those it serves, Carson Tahoe Health is creating a Patient/Caregiver Partnership Council to garner thoughtful and constructive input from its community.

Carson High School Safe Grad, the annual graduation celebration for seniors which generally includes a night of sober festivities as well as a senior trip, will be cancelled for the second year in a row due to COVID-19.

For the week ending March 27, initial claims for unemployment insurance (UI) totaled 11,677, up 4,036 claims, or 52.8 percent, compared to the previous week’s total of 7,641 claims, according to finalized data from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR).

Through the week ending March 27, there have been a total of 908,138 initial claims filed since the week ending March 14, 2020.
