Douglas authorities investigate shooting of intruder at Gardnerville home, suspect in custody
UPDATE: There has been an arrest in the early morning shooting in Gardnerville. Suspect Christian Gorman was treated and released into Douglas County Sheriff's Office custody after a homeowner confronted and shot him once after he had entered their residence without permission, according to a DCSO news release.
Gorham was detained by the homeowner until DCSO arrived. He was taken to Carson Valley Medical Center for his injuries, then treated and released to DCSO. Gorham was booked in the Minden Jail for burglary. DCSO says it does not believe the incident and the incident Tuesday in Topaz Ranch Estates are related.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that happened early Wednesday morning in Gardnerville.
According to a news release, at approximately 4 a.m. DCSO responded to the area of Alicia Circle and Tilman Lane, in Gardnerville for reports of a male subject entering a residence and was shot by the homeowner.
The suspect was transported for their injuries and is currently in stable condition, according to the news release. There is no threat to the community at this time. DCSO Investigations unit is investigating the incident.
The latest incident comes a day after a shooting and death at a Topaz Ranch Estates residence.
According to DCSO, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of trespassing and a man shot at around 5:55 a.m. early Tuesday. At 6:45 a.m., the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office pronounced the death of the man who had been shot.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating and says there is no threat to the community at this time and all involved parties have been identified.
