Carson City sheriff's report: Vehicle theft suspect tracked with app leads to arrest
A 39-year-old woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony theft of a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor warrant, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Heather Kirkpatrick was taken into custody at 7:31 p.m. after the owner of the vehicle, a relative of the woman, reported his vehicle stolen earlier Sunday.
According to the arrest report, the reporting party, who had an app on his phone that allowed him to track the vehicle, advised at around 6:58 p.m. that Kirkpatrick was entering town, passing Eastlake Boulevard.
