NHP identifies 67-year-old pedestrian killed in Washoe Valley crash
The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a Beverly Hills, Calif., resident who died Saturday, April 17 in a pedestrian related vehicle crash in Washoe Valley.
Keith Kampfen, 67, was struck by a vehicle as he was walking eastbound on US-395A across the travel lanes. He died at the scene of the crash, according to NHP.
On Saturday, April 17, 2021 at approximately 8:39 p.m., NHP troopers responded to the crash on US-395 Alternate and Old Mill Place in Washoe County.
A preliminary investigation shows that a white 2015 Volkswagen Beetle was traveling northbound on US-395A approaching Old Mill Place. Kampfen, a pedestrian, was walking eastbound on US-395A across the travel lanes. The front of the Volkswagen struck Kampfen.
The crash is being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) - NHP Case No. 210401227.
