Rotarians to Learn about Partnership Carson City
Partnership Carson City Executive Director Hannah McDonald will be the guest speaker at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. The meeting takes place Tuesday, April 27 at 12:30 p.m. Guests are invited to attend online via Zoom.
Partnership Carson City began more than a decade ago as an effort to fight methamphetamine abuse. While still focusing on stopping drug abuse, PCC has expanded to provide additional services through the city such as the prescription drug round up and educational seminars.
“Our main goal is to provide programs and information to help keep our kids and families healthy and safe,” said McDonald. “PCC now takes a proactive approach to drug abuse prevention, because it’s better to prevent problems than deal with the aftermath. That includes mental health services as well.”
McDonald’s presentation, titled "What is a Prevention Coalition" will address why these types of organizations are important to a community’s health. Anyone with an interest in keeping Carson City residents healthy and drug free will benefit from this meeting.
