Rumors of Glen Eagles closing 'totally false'
Locations
Glen Eagles Restaurant, a Carson City fine dining establishment for 13 years, is still going strong and remains open despite rumors of it being closed.
Restaurant Chef John Ammerman confirmed today that rumors of Glen Eagles having closed or was to be closing are indeed false, and that the rumor has been circulating for at least two weeks.
The rumor is believed to have started because of a change in the restaurant's phone service. Glen Eagles had switched phone companies and because of a glitch, calls to the restaurant said the telephone number had been disconnected and was no longer in service.
"We've been opened seven days a week for 13 years and plan on keeping it that way," Ammerman said.
Carson City Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ronni Hannaman was at the restaurant Friday night and confirmed with the owners that the rumors were "totally false."
"This is a very popular local bar, and it's actually doing better despite the economy," Hannaman said.
Glen Eagles is located at 3700 North Carson Street in Carson City. It is open for lunch Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and dinner seven nights a week, 5 p.m. to close. The restaurant can be reached at (775) 884-4414 or online at http://www.gleneaglesrestaurant.com .
